I’ve spent my whole career helping ideas land by writing copy, producing, marketing and branding.
I started out in the advertising world, building and running a New York agency that grew into a member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies. Along the way, I pitched just about every category or business - from Fortune 500 companies to startups, nonprofits, and neighborhood groups—and learned what actually makes people pay attention, lean in, and say yes.
Long before “digital” was a buzzword, I was already there—helping launch early online campaigns, building one of the first websites for Citizen Watch, and working on the first e-commerce efforts for The Sports Authority. My clients included brands like Sony, Hertz, and the New York Stock Exchange, along with plenty of growing companies that went on to do big things.
One of my clients built a payroll platform for small businesses (up to 500 employees) using the “new micro-computers” (not mainframes). They exited to ADP. Another of our clients was called NYCELL and they we’re marketing cellular telephones and subscriptions. When they got to around 250,000 subs, they merged with a few other cellphone companies and called themselves Verizon.
After decades in the business, I noticed something else: smart, capable people were struggling to communicate their ideas clearly and confidently. So I went back to school, earned a Master’s in Teaching, and combined that with everything I learned in the real world.
That became Presentation TuneUps.
